Download, Install & Ledger® Live Login
To begin, choose Ledger® Live Download on Ledger®’s official site and pick your OS (Windows/macOS/Linux). Verify the download integrity if available, then install. Connect your Ledger® device via a certified cable, unlock it with your PIN, and follow the Get Started flow to create or restore a wallet. Logging into Ledger® Live Desktop requires only the device PIN—no cloud password—so keep your hardware safe.
Troubleshooting: Login & Connection Issues
Common problems include Ledger Login not working, Unable to login Ledger, or Error Connecting Ledger Account. Typical solutions:
- Confirm the device is unlocked and the correct app (BTC/ETH/etc.) is open on the device before attempting connection.
- Try another USB cable/port and avoid USB hubs. Use the original or high-quality cable.
- Update Ledger® Live Desktop and the device firmware. An outdated firmware often blocks account discovery.
- Temporarily disable VPNs, antivirus or firewalls that block local connections.
- Clear app cache from Settings → Help, or reinstall Ledger® Live if corruption persists.
Recovery & 2FA considerations
Ledger® uses a 24-word recovery phrase. Ledger® Account Recovery is performed by entering this phrase on a new Ledger® device (or compatible recovery tool). Ledger® devices don’t use centralized 2FA; if you enabled 2FA on exchanges linked to your wallet, reset those through the exchange’s account recovery flow. Ledger® cannot reset or retrieve your recovery phrase for you.
When Ledger® Live App is Not Working
If the Ledger® Live App (mobile) misbehaves—sync failures, pairing problems, or verification errors—switch to Ledger® Live Desktop for diagnostics. Many issues are easier to diagnose on desktop because of logs, driver visibility, and firmware update tools.
